Job Summary

The Ancillary Nurse will be an integral part of the Minute Clinic team. Under the leadership of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, the ancillary nurse will promote evidence-based practice in all patient encounters. The primary duties of this role include assisting patients with clinical services available at our clinics, performing tasks such as phlebotomy and specimen collection, and conducting diagnostic tests like EKGs and point-of-care testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Registration and Intake: Assist patients with registration and intake processes to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Wait Room Management: Manage the wait room efficiently to minimize patient wait times.
  • Clinical Services: Perform or assist with clinical services such as vaccine injections, vital sign assessments, and diagnostic tests.
  • Equipment Ordering and Preparation: Participate in daily equipment ordering and prepare the clinic for optimal patient experience.
  • Floating between Clinics: May be required to float to other clinics to cover business needs.

Requirements

  • LPN/LVN License: Must hold a full, active, and unrestricted license in the state where applying.
  • Documentation Experience: Have experience documenting care, medication administration, infection control precautions, assessing patient educational needs, physical assessment, and obtaining vital signs.
  • Point-of-Care Testing: Have experience with point-of-care testing and care coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room Experience: Previous experience in these settings is highly desirable.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Documentation: Experience documenting within an EMR system is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy Experience: Previous phlebotomy experience is also preferred.
