Housekeeping Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Specialist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and aseptic manner, adhering to all current Joint Commission/CMS regulations.
• Operate environmental services equipment, including dust mops, wet mops, buckets, wringers, spray bottles, and dustpans.
• Assist with restocking of cafeterias and bars as needed.
• Participate in special cleaning projects and room turnovers.
• Follow all current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility.

• Ability to read, write, and speak/understand verbal communication in English to follow instructions and perform daily tasks.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in operating environmental services equipment and maintaining a clean and aseptic environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules when needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to listen and take direction.

The physical demands of this role include heavy work, exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
