Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
  • Assist with patient care, including routine and emergency care, treatment, and training.
  • Make rounds and/or home visits as needed, and work in other locations at the facility as required.
  • Monitor patient health status, weight, diet, feedings, and vital signs.
  • Document and report patient treatments and observations in the electronic health record.
  • Respond to emergency situations and ensure patient safety.
  • Follow safety and infection control procedures.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory examination and conduct screening tests as requested.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice as a Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid Photo ID.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience performing nursing duties.
  • Considerable knowledge of nursing techniques and procedures, health care laws and regulations, medical diagnoses and procedures, and community health and nursing care principles.
  • Ability to interact with individuals with developmental disabilities and staff members.
