This position may include supervisory responsibilities over certain technical, medical, or administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulates diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up protocols for the healthcare team focused on the specialty, encompassing routine laboratory assessments;
- Collects comprehensive medical histories;
- Conducts thorough physical examinations;
- Prescribes appropriate treatments and medications;
- Determines case management strategies, including follow-up visits, laboratory evaluations, nursing oversight, and referrals to other specialties;
- When necessary, collaborates with healthcare team members to create a comprehensive health plan for patients;
- Regularly reviews patient records to ensure accurate documentation and quality of care;
- Participates in patient case discussions;
- Engages in ongoing professional development through attendance at relevant meetings, conferences, and educational sessions;
- Fulfill responsibilities as part of the backup hospital staff;
- Fosters community relations to ensure effective and responsive healthcare services.
- Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
- Extensive knowledge in the field of pulmonary medicine;
- Proficient in managing patients in a clinical environment;
- Expertise in diagnosing a range of medical conditions pertinent to pulmonary health;
- Capability to design and implement an effective health program within the specialty, integrating preventive, therapeutic, and proactive health measures.
Education:
- Possession of a valid medical license in New York, having completed an accredited medical education program and obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
Licenses / Certifications:
- Current, valid medical license issued by the New York State Education Department.
