Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Mechanic 2 to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of structural assembly operations, including riveting, fitting, and drilling.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using various tools, ensuring parts meet requirements.
  2. Perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft.
  3. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations and type, size, and hole pattern for rivets.
  4. Check all work to ensure a defective-free assembly prior to final inspection.
  5. Maintain and use all logs and records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs.
  6. Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
  7. Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), and Production Change Orders (PCO).
  8. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supporting the company's 5S Program, and comply with all safety regulations.
  9. Work with minimal supervision on duties and tasks.
  10. Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  11. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
  12. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed when operating ground support equipment.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. 2 years related structural assembly experience.
  3. Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
  4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  5. Basic computer skills and basic shop math skills.
  6. Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math.
  7. Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
  8. Essential personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, ability to work with people, and meet demanding schedules.
  9. Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  10. Ability to work any shift.
  11. Ability to climb ladders/stands/stairs and work in small spaces or restricted areas and lift 50 lbs.
  12. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
