The Registered Nurse (RN) will play a crucial role in our newly established 15-bed unit designed to accommodate MedSurg overflow. With a Nurse to Patient Ratio of 5:1, this unit is supported by a dedicated unit secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). Shifts are available for both day and night, ensuring flexibility for our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering comprehensive patient care through a systematic approach that includes:
1. Assessment
2. Diagnosis
3. Planning
4. Implementation
5. Evaluation
In addition, the RN will oversee the delegation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of patient education and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel, all while upholding the standards of professional nursing practice. The RN is expected to provide both direct and indirect patient care.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills:
- Must be a graduate of a State Board accredited School of Nursing or an equivalent program.
B. Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of acute hospital nursing experience is preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
- Must possess a current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required within two weeks of employment.
Work Type:
- Per Diem As Needed
