Position Overview

The Town of Marana is in search of a Civil Engineer to join our Development Services Department. This full-time role presents a unique opportunity for an individual eager to make a significant contribution to private development initiatives within a rapidly expanding community. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical engineering evaluations for private development projects.

Expected Hiring Range: $79,709 - $99,635
Salary Range: $79,709 - $119,562
  • Placement within the salary range is contingent upon relevant experience, internal equity, and budget considerations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Engineering Specialists' team.
  • Examine design documents, including construction plans, plats, technical reports, and grading permits, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and town development codes.
  • Conduct impact fee assessments and calculations.
  • Review and manage development assurances and the project closeout process.
  • Lead project management for minor projects, prepare cost estimates, and oversee the Town's wayfinding program.
  • Analyze engineering documents related to development and create associated standards, such as guidance or procedural manuals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in engineering, development services, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of a Professional Civil Engineer license, or the ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience, or completion of the Town's supervisory academy within one year of hire.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and motor vehicle records check.
