Position Overview

The Audiology professionals at UF Health deliver exceptional audiological services tailored for patients across all age groups. Our dedicated Audiology team specializes in a wide range of diagnostic assessments related to hearing and balance, including electrophysiological evaluations (such as ABR, ASSR, screening ABR, and OAEs), cochlear implant assessments, osseointegrated device evaluations, and comprehensive hearing aid services for both adults and children. Additionally, we conduct newborn hearing screenings and provide necessary follow-up care.

Our Audiologists are expected to possess the expertise and competencies required to identify, evaluate, and manage auditory and balance disorders. They play a crucial role in delivering audiological rehabilitation services to individuals throughout their lifespan. Furthermore, our professionals are responsible for preventing hearing loss by fitting protective hearing devices, advising on noise exposure impacts, and educating consumers on hearing health.

Key Responsibilities

Our Audiologists must demonstrate a profound understanding of developmental principles relevant to patients of varying ages. They are required to:

  • Assess and interpret data reflecting patient status accurately.
  • Provide tailored care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with UF Health Otolaryngology specialists to ensure holistic patient care.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a valid license in the State of Florida.
  • Hold a Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) or a Ph.D.
  • Exhibit proficiency in a diverse array of therapeutic services and environments.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Licensure and Certification

Candidates must be licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation

Individuals in this position may be required to operate vehicles for business purposes as a non-frequent driver.
