Job Summary

The RN Stroke, STEMI, Trauma Program Coordinator plays a vital role in coordinating the healthcare of select patient populations across the continuum of care. This position requires a strong understanding of stroke, STEMI, and trauma care, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the care of patients with stroke, STEMI, and trauma conditions
  • Prepare patients and families for treatment in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Monitor care from Emergency Department admission to stabilization and transfer to a higher level of care or discharge
  • Actively participate in education and training of medical and clinical staff in stroke, STEMI, and trauma care
  • Correct deficiencies in stroke, STEMI, and trauma care through multi-disciplinary committee meetings
  • Organize and attend meetings related to stroke, STEMI, and trauma care
  • Responsible for data abstraction and analysis, and reporting to the Stroke, STEMI, Trauma medical director regarding deficiencies in stroke, STEMI, and trauma care
  • Coordinate community events related to stroke, STEMI, and trauma education
  • Monitor care and data to optimize patient outcomes
  • Coordinate the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence-based clinical practice
Requirements
  • RN graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Successfully completed and current in NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) training
  • Valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing
