Job Summary

This position is responsible for testing, sampling, and inspecting construction materials or elements in a laboratory or field setting to ensure compliance with the supplier and/or owner specifications. As a Quality Control Technician I at Granite Construction, you will be part of a team that ensures the quality of our construction materials and elements.

Key Responsibilities

* Collect and prepare samples of construction materials such as soil, aggregate, hot mix asphalt, and Portland cement concrete in a laboratory or field setting.
* Perform quality control testing on these materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Conduct inspections on these materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Communicate testing and inspection results to supervisors to ensure quality control standards are met.

Requirements

* High school diploma preferred.
* Regional or State Agency certification desired.
* Entry-level position (0-2 years).

Working Conditions

The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
