PRIMARY DUTIES:

Efficiently set up and operate machinery to ensure the production of high-quality products at the targeted operational speed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently set up and operate machinery while adhering to established operational procedures.
  • Handle the loading and unloading of paperboard pallets into the jogger aerator, inspecting sheets for defects.
  • Manage the control panel from a designated base, ensuring safety while operating the jogger aerator.
  • Perform jogging, aerating, aligning, and inverting of pallet-sized loads.
  • Utilize the jogger aerator to separate sheets and clear any trapped powder, dust, or debris.
  • Adjust vibration and aeration speeds as required.
  • Produce uniformly stacked piles of paperboard sheets on pallets to optimize the performance of printing and cutting equipment.
  • Band pallets of waste material generated from offset printing processes.
  • Prepare stock loads in the printing department for upcoming scheduled tasks.
  • Report any potential issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Obtain certification for operating an electric pallet jack.
  • Follow all instructions provided on the work jacket and inform the supervisor of any discrepancies in setup and operation information.
  • Adapt to and implement new procedures and innovations that enhance operational efficiency and safety.
  • Diagnose and assist in the repair of machine malfunctions; conduct routine cleaning and maintenance.
  • Implement lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with our 5S system, including the machine, floors, and work areas.
  • Utilize any machine downtime effectively by performing tasks related to maintaining a clean workspace or as directed by a supervisor.
  • Be prepared to perform different tasks or temporarily assist in other departments based on production requirements.

LEADERSHIP: Must possess the ability to guide team members in executing operational demands efficiently and respond to verbal and written instructions from supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or equivalent; one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude are required.
