Position Overview

As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience in line with Houlihan's Restaurant and Bar standards. Your role will involve crafting beverages with precision and delivering outstanding hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Engagement

  • Arrive at work in a clean and professional uniform, maintaining high personal hygiene standards.
  • Greet guests warmly upon their arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Utilize extensive menu knowledge to make recommendations and anticipate guest needs.
  • Ensure responsible beverage service by verifying guest ages.
  • Take and serve food and drink orders promptly, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Address any additional requests from guests to enhance their experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including pre-bussing and replacing items as needed.
  • Foster relationships with regular patrons by remembering their names and preferences.
  • Provide unobtrusive service, ensuring guests feel attended to without being overwhelmed.
  • Handle phone inquiries and manage to-go orders efficiently.
  • Keep your work area and pantry organized and clean.
  • Engage in side work during quieter periods, including restocking and cleaning duties.
  • Execute service protocols and collaborate with team members to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Utilize service recovery strategies to resolve any guest concerns, striving for complete satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues regarding any service or equipment issues.

Beverage Preparation

  • Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to established recipes and standards.

Order Management

  • Input drink and food orders accurately using POS systems.
  • Process payments efficiently, ensuring a smooth transaction experience for guests.
  • Identify and rectify any operational issues to maximize guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accountability for cash handling and register operations.

Team Support

  • Keep the bar area and restaurant common areas tidy and well-stocked.
  • Prepare garnishes and mixers for beverages.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of glassware and bar equipment.
  • Request necessary supplies from the bar manager as needed.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • Capable of visual tasks at various distances and maintaining awareness of surroundings.
  • Communicate clearly with guests and team members.
  • Work in environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Reach and bend as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Supervision

Receive guidance and training from the Bar Manager or designated supervisor regarding specific tasks and procedures.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of bar operations and customer service principles. Training will be provided for specific skills as needed.
