Railroad Laborer

Cranemasters is seeking a skilled Railroad Laborer to join our team. As a key member of our field operations team, you will be responsible for executing field-based work, including manual labor, in the accomplishment of tasks related to rerailing operations, track maintenance and repair, load adjust/load transfer, and/or car repair.

1. Participate in Daily Safety Briefing: Actively participate in daily safety briefings to ensure a safe working environment.
2. Follow Safety Protocols: Follow all safety rules and regulations, wear required PPE, and perform work in accordance with established processes and procedures.
3. Seek Direction from Supervisors: Seek guidance from Foremen or Supervisors regarding daily work assignments.
4. Load and Move Materials: Load, move, and distribute materials in preparation for work activities, including rerailing, load adjust, load transfer, car repair, and general railroad maintenance and repair.
5. Perform Manual Labor: Perform manual labor tasks, including cutting vegetation, digging holes, and carrying materials from vehicles to designated areas.

• Work Experience: 1 year of work experience in field-based operations involving manual labor, such as construction, farm equipment, utility, or related industries.
• Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
• Strong Adherence to Safety: Display strong adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Qualification Tests: Pass qualification tests as required, including E-Rail Safe and other training/safety programs.
• Availability: Meet 24/7 availability to respond to emergency calls for service, including weekends and holidays.

• Constantly on Feet: Constantly on feet, walking, and carrying loads on uneven surfaces and in ballast.
• Working in All Weather Conditions: Work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation.
• Extended Hours: Work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical Activity: Regularly engage in physical activity, including bending, twisting, stooping, standing, and walking.
• Lifting: Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; loads in excess of 50 pounds should be made lighter.
