Job Summary

Missouri State University is seeking a highly qualified Instructor to join our team in the Department of West Plains Arts, Letters, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching fundamental chemistry courses and labs, creating curriculum, advising students, and contributing to the academic unit, college, and university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a 15/15 credit hour teaching load based on student demand for fundamental chemistry courses and labs.
  • Create curriculum for assigned courses and complete student learning assessment reports.
  • Advise students and liaise with per course and dual credit chemistry faculty.
  • Complete university and community service activities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field with at least 18 hours of graduate credit in Chemistry.
  • Experience teaching first and second year college chemistry courses, including experience in setting up and conducting chemistry labs.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with a wide-range of instructional delivery systems.
  • Familiarity with student learning assessment processes.
  • Involvement in professional organizations and activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
