Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Highmark Health. As a Nurse Practitioner - Corrections/Primary Care Specialist, you will provide primary, acute, and behavioral healthcare services to patients in a correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care, including recording medical history, physical assessment, and developing therapeutic care plans.
  • Communicate and coordinate patient care with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Prepare and administer medications, provide wound care, and perform other clinical duties as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on health and preventive medicine, medications, and treatment instructions.
  • Participate in performance and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • MSN from a State Board of Nursing-approved Master's program.
  • National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through AANP or ANCC.
  • Current State Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License.
  • Current State RN License.
  • Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state within 60 days of hire.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Licensure within 60 days of hire.
  • CPR - American Heart Association.
  • Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearance certificates.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post Master's program, DNP.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification.
