Job Summary

The Mohave County Public Works Department - Facilities Division is seeking a skilled Custodian to join their team in Kingman, AZ. This is an intermediate-level position that involves the cleaning and maintenance of county buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain building floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Empty trash and recyclables, and service restrooms.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures, and dust walls and machines.
  • Mix cleaning solutions and operate commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Steam-clean carpets and strip, seal, and finish floors.
  • Monitor building security and safety, and perform tasks such as locking doors and checking electrical appliance use.
  • Move heavy furniture and equipment, and visually check and clear debris from grounds.
  • Notify managers of the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition and maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience as a custodian or in a related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • Knowledge of cleaning solvents and safety standards.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to lift heavy objects. The successful candidate will be required to pass a drug screen and provide a valid driver's license.
