Groundperson - Union - NTS

Job Title: Groundperson

The Groundperson is a vital member of our team at Nelson Tree Service, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient clearance of vegetation around utility lines. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate chainsaws and other equipment to clear vegetation and maintain a safe working environment.
• Drag, gather, and feed brush into wood chippers to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Service and maintain company vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be willing to join the local union and pay union dues.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Entry-level position, no experience required, but previous experience a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Standing, walking, and manual dexterity are essential for this role.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
