Job Summary:

SpartanNash is seeking a skilled Cake Set-up Associate to join our team in the Central Bakery. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining the rotation of freezer stock and special orders, ensuring that our bakery products are prepared to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain the rotation of freezer stock and special orders
  • Know and organize the production needs for the day
  • Follow safe, sanitary food handling policies to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • No experience required
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30+lbs
  • Setup of daily production
  • Ability to read and understand all special orders
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Requires constant bending, stretching, and good eye/hand coordination

Other Duties:

  • Clean work areas
  • Take out trash
  • Mop floors
  • Restock packaging and labels
  • Assist in packing and passing out departments

Environmental Conditions:

  • Exposed to constant indoor temperatures of 70 degrees or higher
  • Freezer temperatures of 32 degrees or lower
