Director of Corporate Development Finance

The Director of Corporate Development Finance will drive finance for Corporate Development initiatives from Business Development and Venture Capital. They will support Senior Executives in strategic investments across the business.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in medical device Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Equity Research, Buy Side, or Venture Capital roles. They will have a strong track record of leading deal teams, developing M&A models, executing VC investments, managing diligence processes, and providing value perspectives.
The Director of Corporate Development Finance will be responsible for evaluating growth opportunities for Intuitive, researching markets, technologies, and organizations to assess strategic fit and financial value. They will operate as a player coach while managing a team of managers and analysts who support our Corporate Development initiatives.
The Director of Corporate Development Finance will partner with Business Unit managers and deal teams on key diligence areas that impact valuation and transaction structure for M&A and VC deals. They will deliver financial models and valuation analyses for BD and venture capital investments, including acquisitions, licenses, equity investments, joint ventures, and partnerships.
The Director of Corporate Development Finance will also support our Venture Capital team by partnering on investment diligence. They will help develop investment models, including follow-on forecasts, valuations, liquidation waterfalls, exit projections, and return analyses. They will assist with portfolio and capital allocation models.
The Director of Corporate Development Finance will develop board-level presentation materials in support of strategic investments. They will track and report return on investments made in external organizations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, inquisitiveness, and the ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances. They will have profound cogent and critical thinking skills, medical device industry experience, and the ability to master our organizational strengths.
The Director of Corporate Development Finance will be based in our Sunnyvale office and will be required to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. Periodic travel will be necessary to support due diligence efforts and projects.
