About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bakery/Deli Clerk to join our team at Gerbes, a proud member of the Kroger family of companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by creating an outstanding shopping experience through effective communication and product knowledge.
  • Prepare and display high-quality bakery and deli products, ensuring a clean and safe environment for customers.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking merchandise, to meet sales and profit goals.
  • Operate bakery equipment, such as ovens and mixers, according to company guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with department managers to achieve sales and profit objectives, while maintaining quality assurance standards.
  • Embody the Kroger company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.
  • Previous experience in a bakery or deli environment is preferred, but not required.
