Physician Assistant - Surgery

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at LifeBridge Health. As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of an attending surgeon to provide high-quality patient care and assist in the delivery of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, optimizing patient safety and working proactively with other team members.
  • Act as a care coordinator for surgeons, referring physicians, and nursing staff, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Screen patients, perform complete histories and physical examinations, and order/prescribe necessary medications, laboratory and radiologic studies, routine fluids, diets, patient activities, and similar patient care orders.
  • Perform surgical assistant responsibilities, including handling tissue, providing exposure, using instruments, suturing and tying, and providing hemostasis.
  • Respond to the Emergency Room to manage and/or assist with trauma resuscitation.
  • Instruct patients on discharge information, home care of wounds, use of medication, diet, or other aspects of healthcare.

Requirements:

  • American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • NCCPA Certification
  • CPR Healthcare Provider and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license required
