Job Title: Police Civilian Investigator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to assist in the investigation of criminal cases. As a Police Civilian Investigator, you will work closely with detectives and police officers to gather evidence, prepare reports, and communicate with witnesses and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the investigation of criminal cases, including cold cases and background investigations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documents, including case summaries and witness statements.
  • Communicate with witnesses, business owners, and other stakeholders to gather information and evidence.
  • Work under the supervision of a sworn police officer to ensure the integrity of evidence and investigations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police or designee.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Police Science, Forensic Science, Administration of Justice, or a related field.
  • Graduation from an accredited Commonwealth of Virginia Police academy.
  • Preferred candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience as a prior sworn officer.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.
