The Senior Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing daily functions within the Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) departments. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee fixed asset management and general ledger account reconciliations, while collaborating with A/P and A/R teams to ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
- Perform reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the month-end closing process, maintaining the month-end checklist and supporting A/P and A/R tasks.
- Collect and prepare documentation for both internal and external audits.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications; experience with Sage 100 is advantageous.
- Strong awareness and adherence to internal controls.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, conduct independent research, and solve problems using analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
