Job Summary

The Senior Android Mobile Developer at JetBlue will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining sophisticated customer-facing mobile applications. This role will collaborate with various teams to research, analyze, and architect business solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with Kotlin, Java, and Android development, as well as a strong understanding of back-end services and API integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and design Android mobile applications using Kotlin and Java, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Integrate back-end services, including RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and GRPC.
  • Consume and produce service responses in multiple formats, including JSON, XML, and Protobuf.
  • Design, write, and implement unit tests and end-to-end tests for Android applications.
  • Collaborate with and mentor other engineers to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality and consistent coding practices.
  • Partner with data center operations and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployments and proper documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Four years of experience in an Android Mobile Developer role, with experience coding in Kotlin and Java.
  • Experience with RESTful services, JSON, and SOAP-based services.
  • Experience using Git.
  • Demonstrated ability to code complex designs in a modular, well-architected manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of experience with AngularJS and some experience with AngularJS 6 or higher.
  • Thorough knowledge of business function and thorough knowledge of business operations, objectives, and strategies.
  • Previous knowledge with micro service development using GRPC and websockets.

  • Able to maintain a professional appearance.

  • Hybrid office environment.

Physical Effort

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently.

Compensation

  • The base pay range for this position is between $105,600.00 and $150,400.00 per year.
