About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technician to join our team in the Department of General and Specialized Surgery. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care, including positioning, draping, and specimen handling.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, providing emotional support and addressing patient concerns.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized operating room environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in a multi-disciplined OR in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Physical stamina to perform the demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
