About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative On-Device team at Grammarly. This talented individual will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying cutting-edge ML models that bring the power of LLM-powered writing assistance directly onto users' devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Propose and develop strategic new features leveraging on-device capabilities.
  • Build, train, and evaluate ML models to solve real-world problems.
  • Ongoing model implementation in an on-device context, considering factors like model size, performance, and latency.
  • Collaborate with core product teams to integrate ML models into user interfaces.
  • Launch and monitor ML model deployments via A/B testing and address issues arising from user feedback and telemetry.
  • Stay up-to-date with academic research to ensure our technology reflects and advances the state of the art.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of modern algorithms and approaches to machine learning and NLP.
  • Expert-level coding productivity in a modern compiled language, with enthusiasm for Rust development.
  • Experience working on multiple platforms (macOS, Windows, Linux, Android) especially cross-platform projects.
  • Prior experience dealing with device-side code constraints is helpful but not necessary.
  • Working knowledge of front-end development practices is beneficial but not required.
  • Highly entrepreneurial, energetic, and creative individual with a fast-paced work style and adaptable attitude.
  • Effective communication skills, able to convey ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

Estimated salary range for this position in Zone 1: $337,000 - $403,000/year (USD).
