Job Summary

Honsador Lumber is seeking a highly skilled Sales Support Specialist to join our team. As a Sales Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the strategic plan and sales goals of the Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine customers' needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions, guiding customers to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare and interpret customers' needs and job requirements from plan specifications, material listings, and other information provided.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, order placement, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare accurate quotes and clarify product details, lead times, and delivery estimates.
  • Communicate company processes and procedures to customers, ensuring seamless quote reviews and approvals.
  • Continuously improve and maintain in-depth product knowledge and expertise.
  • Code and input customer orders, pricing information, and schedule delivery of products.
  • Follow up on deliveries to ensure materials arrive complete and on time.
  • Maintain a weekly journal of quotes and sales activity reports.
  • Attend product knowledge training and updates to stay current with industry developments.
  • Provide administrative support for quoting, selling, shipping, and receiving, as well as overall customer service.
  • Use professional skills, courtesy, and respect when interacting with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Participate in special projects, events, and tasks assigned by the General Manager to maintain and improve customer relationships and product sales.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in sales, new construction, and/or commercial projects preferred.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team environment with time constraints, deadlines, and organize a large workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) required.
  • Excellent computer and math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of common fractions and decimals.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Able to work in a team atmosphere.
