Banquet Houseperson

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Banquet Houseperson to join our team at Salamander Resort & Spa. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas.

• Maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to dish-washing machine.
• Set up assigned station with pre-determined mise en place required to service prepared items.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.
• Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Sort bottles and break disposable ones in bottle crushing machine.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school or equivalent education required. Experience preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have a working knowledge of kitchen cleaning.
• Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver within a kitchen.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.

Most work tasks are performed indoors. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a clean and organized workspace is essential for success in this role.
