This is a challenging and rewarding role for a registered nurse who is looking to take on a leadership position in a dynamic healthcare environment. As a RN Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the care of patients within a unit, working closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and coordinate patient care within a unit, ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care.
- Supervise and develop assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
- Promote evidence-based practice by adopting and implementing nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines.
- Manage conflict on assigned shifts, collaborating with other supervisors and unit leadership as needed.
- Collaborate with patient quality, safety, and experience leadership to promote patient quality, safety, and experience processes.
- Support daily clinical operations on the unit, ensuring effective scheduling, staffing, and clinical supplies and resources are available for patient care.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1 year of relevant experience as a registered nurse, or 2 years of experience as an LPN in an acute care setting.
- Ability to be self-directed, proficient in using computers, software, and web-based applications, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This role requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases and may be exposed to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
