Job Overview

Southern General Agency Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Property and Casualty Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our property and casualty team, you will contribute to the production and revenue generation of our business.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial excess and surplus line production underwriting or wholesale brokerage, with a proven track record of success in driving new business revenue. You will be responsible for migrating existing agency relationships, setting and achieving new business production goals, and partnering with unit managers to develop new product lines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate existing agency relationships and drive new business revenue through personal production.
  • Set and achieve new business production goals by identifying new agency relationships throughout Alabama, Mississippi, and/or Louisiana.
  • Partner with unit managers to develop new product lines that can be cross-marketed in your retail networks.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of commercial excess and surplus line production underwriting or wholesale brokerage experience.
  • A strong existing presence in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.
  • Familiarity with broad binding programs (casualty, property, professional lines) and special programs (small business, contractors, etc.).
