Substitute Teacher

At ESS Education, we are seeking a qualified Substitute Teacher to join our team in Clarion County. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of education for students in the absence of a regular teacher.

• Provide high-quality instruction to students in assigned classrooms, following the regular teacher's lesson plans and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, promoting a positive learning experience for students.
• Report any student injuries, illnesses, or serious discipline problems to the school administration.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions, encouraging student participation and engagement.
• Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers, providing constructive feedback to support student growth.
• Supervise students' fieldwork, internship, and research work, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records, adhering to school policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others, ensuring the integrity of the assessment process.
• Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues, contributing to the development of school policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed by the school administration, supporting the overall mission and goals of the school.

• Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
