Position Overview:
The CNC Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in the setup and operation of CNC machinery, including mills, lathes, and laser cutters, to manufacture components that adhere to client and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ascertain dimensions and tolerances of finished components, along with the sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Conduct machine setup, which involves selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials to guide subsequent machining processes.
  • Initiate and monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specified tolerances.
  • Adjust machine settings as necessary to rectify any discrepancies.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools, such as calipers and CMM programs, to assess the accuracy of produced components.
  • Inspect the initial piece produced for compliance with dimensions and tolerances before continuing with the production run.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot machining or assembly issues.
  • Maintain physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift weights up to 50lbs.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED, with demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and performing mathematical calculations at a high school level.
  • 1-3 years of experience or formal training in CNC machine setup and operation.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and routings effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Working Environment:

Standard manufacturing floor conditions with potential exposure to various elements such as dust, heat, and noise.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical certification or an associate degree in CNC machining.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Knowledge of material properties or relevant coursework.
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC mills, lathes, and laser cutting machine operations.
