We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our surgical team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our surgical services.
Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients with complex surgical needs, including ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, and therapeutic interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, primary nurses, and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive, family-centered care.
- Apply advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, and collect clinical data, including vital signs and laboratory results.
- Administer medications, perform minor surgery, and order medical laboratory tests as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and Albany Medical Center policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices and evidence-based care.
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
- Successful completion and maintenance of ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
