About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Amerit Fleet Solutions. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of medium to heavy duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to medium to heavy duty vehicles, including diesel engines, brakes, tires, and air conditioning systems.
  • Prepare vehicle records and reports, both manually and on a computer.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation as required.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and perform work on the undercarriage of vehicles.
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install them on vehicles.
  • Interact with clients and colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance or a diploma in auto or diesel technology from an accredited technical school.
  • Commercial Driver's License class A or B preferred.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing duties.
  • Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
  • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants.
  • Ability to move and position heavy objects.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
