Clinical Record Specialist

Mason City Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Record Specialist to join our team. As a respected healthcare provider in Northwest Iowa and Southern Minnesota, we offer a competitive salary of $55,000 to $70,000 per year, plus additional benefits and incentives.
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as exceptional analytical and communication skills. They will be responsible for reviewing and transcribing patient records, obtaining missing information, and resolving discrepancies in dictated material.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Review and transcribe patient records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Research and obtain missing information, using prescribed procedures to resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure accurate and complete patient medical records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in medical transcription or a related field.
- Minimum 6-12 months on-the-job experience in medical transcription.
- Strong knowledge of current written communication guidelines regarding grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Ability to key enter and transcribe reports and other material at a level normally acquired through completion of a twelve to eighteen month medical transcriptionist training program.
