Job Summary:The Industrial Athletic Trainer will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a comprehensive worksite injury management and health improvement program for employees. This position requires a unique blend of skills, including injury prevention and evaluation, ergonomic risk assessments, and corrective action planning.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform Comprehensive Wellness Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and Implement Site-Specific Wellness Initiatives: Design and implement programs to promote employee health and well-being, including ergonomic interventions and health education.
- Provide First-Aid Treatment and Management: Offer immediate care for musculoskeletal complaints, including the use of ice, heat, wellness stretches, massage, tape techniques, and non-rigid bracing.
- Coordinate and Implement Treatment Plans: Work with employees to develop and implement treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic exercise, modalities, and work conditioning as necessary.
- Perform Data Analysis and Execute Administrative Tasks: Collect and analyze data, complete forms, document patient files, and generate reports to track program effectiveness and budget.
- Create a Culture of Trust and Care: Foster an environment where employees feel empowered to take responsibility for their health and well-being, reducing the risk of injury and illness.
- Communicate with Safety Personnel: Regularly collaborate with safety personnel to ensure alignment on rehab and injury prevention activities and advocate for employees' needs.
- Attend Meetings and Serve on Committees: Participate in meetings and serve on committees as requested by the client to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Author Articles and Content: Opportunity to author articles for company newsletters and the intranet site to share knowledge and best practices.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Certifications: Board of Certification (BOC) certified, state licensure/certification, and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of athletic training experience, with knowledge of OSHA Recordability and workers' compensation.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with clients and employees, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
