About the Job

This is a role for a skilled Behavior Support Specialist to join our Autism Severe Needs Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting school teams in implementing skill acquisition and behavior support strategies aligned with current best practices from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Job Summary

The primary function of this job is to attend to responsibilities and duties within the Autism Severe Needs Team. This includes developing positive behavioral supports utilizing evidence-based interventions appropriate for a school setting, training staff to use interventions and monitoring with fidelity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop positive behavioral supports utilizing evidence-based interventions appropriate for a school setting;
  • Train staff to use interventions and monitor with fidelity;
  • Use progress monitoring data to make program changes that incorporate behavior analytic strategies and interventions;
  • SUPPORT A CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS EMBEDDED COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL SKILLS;
  • Consult, collaborate, and support school teams in creating and implementing with fidelity behavior intervention, including completion of Functional Behavioral Assessments;
  • Collect, graph, and analyze student data from a functional behavioral assessment and write reports summarizing the results;
  • Implement individual and classroom-wide strategies, interventions, etc. to increase adaptive behaviors and the development of functionally equivalent alternative responses;
  • Design, implement, and evaluate environmental modifications to produce socially significant improvements in human behavior;
  • Maintain a schedule for direct work with students;
  • Ambitalize Assessment and programming skills by assessing a student's instructional needs and develop appropriate programming;
  • Confer with parents on an ongoing basis and as a part of the collaborative team;
  • Develop tools and work with staff to collect progress-monitoring data on behavioral goals;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested;
Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in behavioral science or related field;
  • One (1) year of professional work experience with applied behavioral science;
  • Experience working with students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities;
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis;
  • Advanced knowledge of the special education evaluation and IEP process;
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills;
  • Intermediate organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Advanced interpersonal relations and teamwork skills;
  • Advanced problem-solving skills;
  • Advanced skills in behavioral assessment and positive behavior support plan development;
  • Advanced report writing skills in order to document assessment, intervention, and IEP-related information;
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with others;
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire;
Estimated Salary

$85,000-$115,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
