Job Overview

Position Title: Cloud Cyber Defense Analyst

Performance Duration: 12-month initial period with options for four additional months and a possible six-month extension.

Location: Fort Belvoir, VA

Work Arrangement: Onsite (5 days a week)

Clearance Requirement: Active TOP SECRET or TOP SECRET/SCI

Eligibility: U.S. Citizens Only

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Take the lead in identifying vulnerabilities, conducting thorough analyses, formulating mitigation strategies, developing cybersecurity solutions, and educating clients to safeguard against cyber threats targeting the U.S. Army's cloud information systems and network assets.
  2. Utilize technical expertise to deliver computer network defense capabilities, ensure continuous monitoring, perform technical analysis, maintain situational awareness, and respond to incidents affecting the most classified systems and data within the Army.
  3. Implement knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) and Joint Service regulations to ensure compliance of computer systems and telecommunications services with cybersecurity standards.
  4. Oversee cloud systems to detect potential security breaches.
  5. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability testing.
Essential Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of five years of experience in Computer Network Defense (CND) or a master's degree in computer science or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience.
  2. Possession of Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) and GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH).
  3. Certification in one or more of the following: Certified Intrusion Analyst, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  4. DoD Information Assurance Technical Level 3 (IAT Level 3) certification.
  5. Foundational Cloud Certification.
  6. Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its associated regulations.
  7. Understanding of the utilization, configuration, implementation, and analysis of industry-standard cyber defense capabilities, including web content filters, email security, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Domain Name System (DNS) security practices, advanced log analysis, network monitoring, and firewalls.
  8. Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance is mandatory.
