The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Cleveland Clinic is dedicated to providing outstanding care to a diverse range of surgical patients, including those undergoing procedures related to cardiology, vascular health, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, pulmonary issues, and gastrointestinal conditions. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
- Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a mentor, adhering to established protocols.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- BSN is preferred.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
Work Complexity:
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to function effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Experience:
- New graduates or RNs with less than one year of experience in acute care settings.
Physical Requirements:
- Full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Requires normal vision and hearing capabilities.
- Must be able to work under stress and during irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Medium physical demands, including lifting weights between 20 to 50 pounds.
