We are seeking an IT Specialist to join our team at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing desktop hardware and software support to our end users.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to complex end user IT incidents, network issues, and service requests, providing appropriate and prompt solutions.
- Troubleshoot difficult issues, individually, as a team and with the agency's office of Information and Security Services (ISS) staff, to identify variables and possible fixes.
- Support and maintain all personal computer (PC) equipment, printers, digital senders, monitors, laptops, docking stations, and specialized equipment used by various offices throughout Fiscal Service.
- Develop end user IT configuration requirements in consultation with agency staff and vendors.
- Make recommendations for end user systems upgrades, augmentation, and replacement.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
To be eligible for this position, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent, which have equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience includes experience performing IT Customer Support work that involves facilitating, planning and delivering customer support principles and methods, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and communicating IT issues inside and outside the business unit in order to provide first-contact customer service problem resolution.
For the GS-12, examples of such experience could include:
- Project experience with end user IT systems with a wide variety of technologies (i.e. operating systems, mobile devices, administrative tools, end user software);
- Experience providing IT services such as designing, developing, testing, documenting, maintaining, and/or integrating end user applications and solutions;
- Experience participating in technical planning, product evaluation, and report development;
- Experience providing IT services such as designing, developing, testing, documenting, maintaining, and/or integrating end user applications and solutions;
