Job Title: After School Program Instructor

Join the City of Oxnard's Cultural and Community Services Department as an After School Program Instructor. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality programs and services to our community.

Job Summary:

The After School Program Instructor is responsible for leading and implementing after-school programs for youth in grades 1-8. This includes providing direct supervision, instruction, and support to program participants, as well as maintaining a safe and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supervision and instruction to program participants
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and activities that promote youth development and engagement
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for program participants
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other program staff to ensure a cohesive and effective program
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to changing circumstances
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of experience working with youth in a program setting
  • Completion of a minimum of 48 college credits or a para-educator examination
