Position Overview:
We are in search of a highly skilled and motivated Traveling Superintendent to become a vital part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in constructing storage facilities or multi-story commercial buildings. In this role, you will oversee all phases of commercial construction projects from start to finish. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy traveling and have a passion for multi-story commercial construction, particularly in the self-storage sector. You will manage various projects across multiple locations, ensuring that quality and safety standards are upheld at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all facets of the construction process, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Supervise and coordinate the efforts of construction personnel and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site evaluations to track progress and ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement project timelines, oversee daily operations, and coordinate the activities of all stakeholders involved.
- Address on-site challenges and emergencies swiftly, making necessary adjustments to maintain project flow and efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to achieve project objectives.
- Prepare and present regular project updates, keeping management informed of progress and any arising issues.
- Uphold all health and safety regulations, promoting a secure work environment for all team members.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Superintendent with a focus on self-storage projects.
- Proven expertise in ground-up, commercial, multi-story construction.
- Extensive experience in roles requiring travel, demonstrating the ability to manage projects in diverse locations.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities, with the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, equipment, and OSHA regulations.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documentation.
- Willingness to travel frequently as project demands dictate.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
