About the Role

The Machinist 2 - Precision Parts Specialist is a key member of our production team at Marmon Holdings, Inc. As a skilled machine tool operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain various Turning machines, including Lathes and Swiss Lathes, to ensure high-quality production.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Visually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness, and ensure that all products meet quality standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machine tools and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with Senior Machinists and Process Engineers to improve cell processes and optimize production efficiency.
  • Mentor and train junior machinists to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Troubleshoot problems under the guidance of Senior Machinists or Process Engineers, and document solutions for future reference.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience at Acumed, or 3-5 years of external experience in a similar role.
  • Successful completion of Tooling U and/or enrollment in Machining Classes, or equivalent.
  • Mastery of Level 1 competencies on the Acumed Machinist Career Ladder and Qualifications.
  • Demonstrated set-up competency on Cell-specific Machine Tools, with acceptable results.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and basic programming understanding, documented by Lead/Level 3.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Basic math skills and high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand, and complete all documentation.
