The Janitor Helper C will report directly to the Head Janitor (property engineer). While specific duties may differ by location, the janitor helper will be tasked with essential cleaning duties, refuse disposal, and the upkeep of common areas. A positive attitude and the ability to adapt to varying responsibilities are vital for success in this role. Union membership may be a requirement depending on the location.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming carpets, refuse disposal, maintaining chute rooms, sweeping, mopping, and snow removal.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, including lobbies, fitness centers, party/media rooms, business centers, restrooms, and break rooms (as applicable).
- Provide coverage for door staff during lunch and breaks as necessary.
- Assist with maintenance tasks and respond to medical emergencies as required.
- Experience in multi-family facilities is preferred. Basic plumbing, minor electrical, and HVAC skills are advantageous.
- Educational qualifications may be dictated by union requirements.
- Must be a self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple tasks. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, which may involve working during holidays, weekends, and nights as needed.
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
