Essential Responsibilities:


The provision of patient care utilizing the nursing process framework (assessment, diagnosis, and patient outcomes) during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases for surgical patients.


Supervision Received:
Clinical Services Supervisor

Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Active Registered Nurse License.
Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Exhibits thorough, up-to-date professional knowledge and skills in accordance with established nursing standards and departmental policies, including the Patient Bill of Rights and JCAHO regulations, as well as the Nurse Practice Act.

Evaluates the physiological and psychosocial health status of patients.
Monitors pain levels as per policy.
Completes comprehensive patient histories.
Communicates essential information to relevant staff to ensure continuity of care.
Accurately documents patient information and signs records using the appropriate professional title.
Assesses patients' understanding and expectations regarding care.
Identifies desired patient outcomes.
Establishes nursing diagnoses.

Anticipates the needs of the surgeon during procedures.
