The Town of Smyrna, TN is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our wastewater treatment plant.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain all process equipment and lift stations, above and below ground level.
- Perform all necessary operational and maintenance duties of the wastewater treatment plant.
- Operate computer systems using a Windows environment, utilize spreadsheets, word processors, and the SCADA system.
- Perform maintenance of equipment related to the maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations, including calibration of feeders and instruments, and repair of feeders, pumps, motors, hoists, backflow preventers, valves, and other treatment equipment.
- Enter and update files on computer for preparing reports, spreadsheets, historical information, maintenance records, and letters as directed.
- Maintain sanitary cleanliness of work areas, the treatment plant, and associated facilities.
- Maintain records in compliance with Federal, State, and City regulations.
- Work safely observing all OSHA, Federal, State, and City regulations.
- Report any accidents immediately to supervisor.
- Correctly wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Wastewater and Collection System License or the ability to obtain.
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of hire.
- Active telephone number for 24-hour contact.
