ROLE SUMMARY:

This position is categorized as a TEMPORARY ROLE. As a Senior SSES LCR Technician focused on the Wet Weather Program, your primary responsibilities will involve conducting field data collection tasks associated with the execution of a typical Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES). This includes verifying water service line materials and performing various field assessments such as flow monitoring, closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections, smoke testing, manhole evaluations, dye testing, and service line confirmations, along with other assigned duties. YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Conducting field investigations to gather high-quality and precise data.
  • Executing manual excavations of water service lines.
  • Performing material assessments to identify the composition of water service lines.
  • Conducting CCTV inspections to document various pipeline characteristics and detect defects.
  • Carrying out manhole inspections to record structural attributes and identify issues.
  • Implementing smoke tests and documenting any defects found.
  • Measuring wastewater flows during off-peak hours through night flow isolations.
  • Executing dye testing for water tracing and flooding purposes.
  • Installing and maintaining open channel flow metering equipment for flow monitoring.
  • Working in confined spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes.
  • Reviewing field data to ensure its quality and accuracy.
  • Planning projects to align with client specifications.
  • Troubleshooting, supporting, repairing, and testing hardware and software.
  • Managing and controlling inventory.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for overnight assignments.
  • Engaging in extensive outdoor walking and climbing ladders throughout the year in various weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Preferred: A minimum of three years of experience in SSES and Field Service.
  • Must be open to travel.
  • Willingness to work around open sanitary sewer lines is essential.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification is required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Strong technical skills are preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Process-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and/or Trimble Products is a plus.
  • Experience in data collection for SSES or other underground utilities is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record, along with passing a drug test and background check, are required.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a desk and on a computer.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying terrains and climates for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting equipment weighing up to 45 pounds.
