Tact Staff is seeking a skilled travel nurse RN for a PCU - Progressive Care Unit position in South Charleston, West Virginia.

The hospital in West Virginia requires a Tele travel nurse with experience in PCU - Stepdown. The ideal candidate will have previous travel experience and be able to float to ICU or Stepdown. The unit has 11 beds and a ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients. The required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. The common diagnoses/types of patients include post-op vascular, hemodynamically stable cardiac dysrhythmias, CVA, sepsis, renal patients, stable acute MI, unstable angina, post-cardiac cath with PCTA or with a significant blockage. The experience required includes 1-2 years of critical care experience, bipap, cpap, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, critical drips, post-cardiac cath care, CRRT, and IABP. The charge nurse/house supervisor will be available 24/7, and the unit clerk duties will be shared among the nurses. The RT equipment includes cpap, bipap, high-flow O2, mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy, specialty beds, and IV pumps. The tele requirement is yes, with a monitor tech available 24/7. The weekend requirement is every other, and the holiday requirement is rotational. The floating requirement is to Med-Surg Telemetry if not needed in ICU or Stepdown, and to the Emergency Department to care for boarded PCU or ICU patients. The scrub color/dress code is RN/LPN - Navy, C.N.As/Monitor Techs - Dark Grey/Pewter, with solid color scrubs and closed-toe shoes only. The unit/department-specific orientation includes first-day general hospital orientation, full-day nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour orientation shifts with a preceptor.
