Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40-hour work weeks consisting of five 8-hour shifts, typically from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Weekend and holiday shifts are required on a rotating basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse at a women's correctional facility, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Engage in data collection regarding patient status and needs.
  • Provide valuable insights to the Registered Nurse for the development of care plans.
  • Administer medications and therapies in accordance with established protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care plans.
  • Initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Assist in discharge planning and health maintenance for patients.
  • Document all patient care activities and report any significant information or occurrences.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Participate actively in committees and unit meetings.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development to enhance nursing practices.
  • Adhere to all personnel policies to support the efficient operation of the healthcare unit.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse registration in New Jersey.
  • At least six months of nursing experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
  • Experience in administering care and medications to multiple patients.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and reliability in previous roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to maintaining professionalism.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
  • Experience in medical-surgical settings is advantageous.
  • Compliance with security regulations and procedures is mandatory.

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of performing CPR for a minimum of 10 minutes and assist in lifting patients weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires the ability to work at various computer stations, communicate effectively, and perform physical tasks as needed.
