Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. You will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and the portion of the body involved.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patient bedsides.
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Orient new hires and train students.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years continuous experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist License (CRT).
  • California State Fluoroscopy Permit.
  • California Venipuncture Certificate.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • BLS required.
